Over the last few months in coordination with Ontario Tech University, PTAG has developed a new course for Nuclear Engineers and Scientists. This course is based on PMBOK and other industry best practices. The course will run online for 12 weeks starting September 14th. PTAG’s very own Dr. Claudia Xavier will be leading the course with several Subject Matter Experts.

Course Description
This course is intended to prepare Nuclear Engineers and Scientists in the application of Project Management concepts, tools, and processes in their work. It is an intensive investigation into the major principles of Project Management with emphasis towards, best practices in management of current nuclear engineering projects.
Throughout the term Project Management Institute’s PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) will be the main reference, covering all ten Project Management knowledge areas, and expanding the topics with relevant examples and case studies from nuclear, software, and general engineering. Special emphasis will be placed on Risk Management, particularly in safety-critical projects. Further, the course will beta test modern software tools, to enhance online learning and e-communications, critical to Project Management.
